UNDP Ngarannam Re-settlement
Ngarannam Re-settlement Project reimagines a Boko Haram-razed village in Borno State as a resilient, culturally rooted township. Led by Oshinowo Studio for UNDP Nigeria, the 2022 scheme delivers homes, a clinic, school, shaded marketplace, and police outpost, all arranged around courtyards for cross-ventilation and community life. Red-pitched roofs echo local vernacular, while solar micro-grids, water points, and defensive berms anchor security and self-sufficiency for 3,000 returning residents.
Celebrated worldwide and featured in ArchDaily, Architectural Digest, Designboom, and The Economist. Ngarannam stands as a model for post-conflict reconstruction in West Africa. Explore full press coverage on our Publications page.
