Abijo Mosque by PWC
Abijo Mosque is a modernist styled mosque in Abijo GRA, Lagos, designed by Patrickwaheed Design Consultancy and completed in 2020. Taking cues from Yoruba earth-plastered compounds, the building is wrapped in hand-trowelled tyrolean render and rests on a laterite podium. Reclaimed paving stones form perforated walls that screen glare and create stack-effect breeze across the column-free prayer hall underlying PWDC tropical design style.

Widely published by ArchDaily, World-Architects, Mosqpedia and other international platforms, Abijo Mosque has become a touchstone for contemporary West-African religious architecture that fuses place-based craft, climate-responsive design and spiritual serenity.
