NATIVE HOTELS: VILLA BCC
This beautiful colonial hotel used to be the former Office of the District Commanders in Ouidah now turned into a 14-room boutique hotel. The original volumes, galleries, woodwork, moldings and facades were restored by COBLOC Architecture to keep the building's original colonial silhouette, while terrazzo and wooden screens added a contemporary layer.
At the center of the colonial complex, a pool complex consisting of a large swimming pool and two smaller pools, with a landscaped beach set into the existing landscape. The result combined restored heritage, climate-responsive design and contemporary architecture into a building filled with Ouidah's history.
