Bathrooms are one space in a home that can be easily ignored or seen as pretty mundane but some designers have updated the space with their use of wood as an element from standard to very unconventional ways.

Here’s a top 8 countdown of eye-catching bathroom details so far this year.

8. Jungle House By CplusC Architects

Wood is made the star of the space with the vanity, closet and shower floor area with all other colours and textures muted.

From the Architects - The ground floor bathroom at #WelcomeToTheJungleHouse is an oasis of light and warm materials, featuring a custom hand spun basin by Tasmanian ceramicist @lindseywherrett.

The highlight of the bathroom is the wood & raw stone vanity, with all other textures pared down to a minimum.

About the Project - Hidden House is an additions project nestled amongst dense bush-land and grafts a contemporary pavilion onto a 80's cedar clad home close to the Margaret River.

3. Paramount House Hotel by @breathearchitecture⁠⠀

Paramount House Hotel has a unique bathroom design with an all wood shower tub paired with golden accessories. It's a design project by the Melbourne-based Breathe-Architecture. The hotel interiors take material cues from the Functionalist style Paramount House and in acknowledgement of its former association with the film industry, the delicate jewel-like crown is intended to capture the spirit and excitement of the golden era of film.⁠

2. Elwood House Hotel by Splinter Society

Splinter Society have designed the modern interior renovation of a house in Melbourne, Australia. The focal point of this bathroom is the liner wood pattern that flows from ceiling to floor, matched with dark stone to give it a sombre feel.
