Lantern House

The Lantern House by Oshinowo Studio is a luminous private residence on Banana Island, Lagos. Designed with the studio’s signature afrominimalist approach. The five-bedroom home balances clean architectural geometry with textured screening and layered light. Its distinct façade, clad in perforated steel panels, acts as both a privacy veil and a dynamic surface, filtering daylight and casting a warm glow by night earning the project its name.

While the interiors are planned around light and air: generous double-height spaces, a sculptural helical staircase, and tall glazing frame coastal views. Thoughtfully placed skylights and large openings enhance natural ventilation, responding to Lagos’ tropical climate.

The project exemplifies a modern Nigerian luxury residence: climate-conscious, culturally rooted, and crafted for multigenerational living.
